We recommend you get to Orvieto the day before any workshop (we can pick you up if you arrive by train or direct and meet you if coming by car- we give you detailed directions & we meet that evening for dinner.

When we say 3 days, for example, we mean 3 full days of photography and tuition. So you will need 4 nights accommodation…longer if you decide to stay independently.

* Accommodation for Workshops

First decide on the dates you would like to visit and how long…

If you arrive by train then we would recommend using a B&B or hotel in Orvieto. There are also self-catering options available.

If you have a car and wish to explore before or after then we can recommend a superb B&B ourside Orvieto with incredible views back over this most photogenic of Italian cities. There are also any number of beautiful agriturismos in the countryside within easy reach of Orvieto with or without pools.

Obviously you can look on-line, select and book however, this is something we can easily do for you. We can provide you with a short-list of accommodation (with prices) we would choose for ourselves and you choose.

* Car Hire: We can arrange very reasonable local car hire for you if you arrive by train and wish to explore before or after.

* Trains: There is an excellent train services from Rome to Orvieto (58 min express, 1hr 20minutes-regional train) priced much more reasonably than in the UK.

* Independence: We are well aware that in this day and age, people like to be independent and can slot in a course with us as part of a longer holiday. If you are exploring before or after we can help you with great places to go….we aim to be flexible.

* Eating: Locally there are numerous very good local trattorie at very reasonable prices where you can dine (typically 20€-25€ with wine for a 3-course meal). Orvieto has been designated a ‘Slow Food City’ a wonderful movement started as an alternative to fast food!
